Harvey Raines, a well known and high respected man of Putnam County died at his home about 4 miles northeast of Greencastle Sunday morning about 1 o’clock.  Mr. Raines had been in Greencastle Saturday night and had attended the Republican meeting and had returned home and retired. He was unable to sleep from an attack of indigestion and about 12:30 Dr. WM McGaughey was called and had just administered a hypodermic when Mr. Raines died. Death was caused from acute dilatation of the heart. Mr. Raines had suffered from heart trouble for a number of years.  Mr. Raines was born and reared in Putnam County and died at the old family homestead.  He was 58 years old.  His mother died at the home about a year ago.  He is survived by the widow, two children, Mrs. Harvey Owens of this city and Walter Raines of Gary and three grandchildren.  He was a member of the Christian Church at Fillmore and for years served as a member of the county council. Funeral services will be held at the home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock with Rev BH Bruner in charge. Burial will be at Fillmore. - kbz
